Microsoft OneDrive for Mac Older Download Links

Just like any other Microsoft products for Mac, they only support the last 3 versions of macOS available. So if you’re using older versions of macOS, chances are you won’t be able to install their latest software.

This rule also applies to Microsoft OneDrive.

In this post, I archived all final Microsoft OneDrive versions that are compatible with older macOS versions.

Is It Safe and Genuine?

That is a good question. Never trust anything you read on the internet, including my website.

The download links I provide here are official download links from Microsoft. They are genuine and safe to download.

I do not host the installers or use third-party servers. The files all come directly from Microsoft.

When you click the download links here, the download will come directly from Microsoft in one of these domains:

oneclient.sfx.ms, the official Microsoft domain for OneDrive downloads
microsoft.com and its subdomains (go.microsoft.com, download.microsoft.com, etc.), the official Microsoft domain

All you need to do is select and download the OneDrive version from the available list.

OneDrive Ring: Production vs Deferred, which one to choose?

You maybe confused to which ring to download.

Basically, for most users, personal or professional, you can just select Production. For Enterprise use, choose the Deferred version.

Download Microsoft OneDrive for Older Mac

Below are the download links for Microsoft OneDrive for older macOS versions. I don’t host these files myself, and they are not from third-party providers, so you don’t need to worry about their authenticity.

Download OneDrive for Mac (Production Ring)

These download links are recommended for everyone, either for personal and professional.

Download OneDrive for Mac (Deferred Ring)

Use the Deferred Ring if and only if you’re in a strick controlled environment like in Enterprise.

Prevent OneDrive Auto Update

If for some reason you don’t want or can’t update your macOS version, it’s a good idea to keep the installed OneDrive at the current version, because future versions of OneDrive may not be compatible with your macOS version.

To do that, open the Terminal app, copy and paste each line of the command below into the terminal, and press Enter to execute.

chmod -x '/Applications/OneDrive.app/Contents/OneDrive Updater.app/Contents/MacOS/OneDriveUpdater'

chmod -x /Applications/OneDrive.app/Contents/StandaloneUpdater.app/Contents/MacOS/OneDriveStandaloneUpdater

The purpose of the above commands is to remove the execution permission of the automatically updated program, so the update program cannot be executed.
